Building for the future

BUILDING ON A 100 year LEGACY

“It is entirely appropriate that as we commemorate the centenary of the First World War that Poringland Village Hall which dates back a hundred years is now to be replaced. The old building has given sterling service for the local community for decades but now it is right that the new All Saints Centre should become the renewed focus for community activities. The ambitious plans will be a tremendous boost for the people of Poringland and nearby. But ambitious plans are often expensive plans and I give my full support to all those who are working so hard to raise the money to provide this new heart to the community. I look forward to visiting the new All Saints Centre when it is completed.”
— General the Lord Dannatt GCB CBE MC DL

The existing ageing Poringland Village Hall was first established in 1919, and extended in 1939. It has had many uses since then and currently is in regular use by many community groups including:

In September 2011, the site was expanded to the rear, with the purchase of an adjacent piece of land, which has since been used as an extended play area.

Our Vision

Our Vision

our vision is To replace a well used 100 year old village hall, situated in the centre of Poringland Village, with a larger modern, multi-purpose facility FOR THE WHOLE COMMUNITY.

The new all Saints Centre

Intended to complement the existing Poringland Community Centre, this new facility will continue to meet the needs of existing users, and also offer many opportunities for new users. It will consist of three parts, which can all be used independently:

  • Large Multi-use Hall
  • Dedicated Ofsted approved facility for children's playgroups and after-school activities
  • Reception Area with Welcome Desk and Coffee Stop

Like the current Village Hall, the All Saints Centre will be operated with a strong Christian ethos.

Just as Poringland Village Hall has served the community so well and for so long, All Saints Centre, its long awaited replacement, will continue to do the same. It complements the existing community centre, and deserves our full support in providing a further invaluable asset in a rapidly expanding community.
— John Overton, South Norfolk District Councillor
Time Childcare (formerly Poringland Playgroup) have been based in Poringland Village Hall for over 40 years and running as a group for nearly 50 years! The Village Hall cannot be renovated due to its age, and the new building is essential for us to continue to provide our services for the children of our village and surrounding areas.

please help us raise £3.16 MILLION!

Big visions require big budgets and the estimated cost for building the new All Saints Centre is no exception. Raising this amount of money requires as many of us as possible to play our part.

We are currently researching a replacement donation platform to receive money for this project, as the BT MyDonate platform closed on 30th June 2019. Please continue to visit the website for an update, or if you wish to make a donation today please contact Brian Folkard on 01508 826278 or by Email. Many thanks for your interest and support.
