Monday 14th May
For Julia ill with shingles and only 4 weeks away from the birth of her baby may she continue to get help with the condition and may she be back to full health by the time of her little ones birth. For the holiday club and all those who will be helping this year and all the children who will come this year that they will know Jesus better. For all the Youth Work in the village that many young people will come to Jesus through this work.
Tuesday 15th May
For the Churches Together and community plans for the celebrations for the Queens Jubilee. For the queen and all the charities she supports especially those that are of special interest to her such as the Bible society. Thanksgiving for her Christian faith. For those that oppose same-sex marriage not have censorship imposed on them by officials in the church. Dr Rowan Williams has claimed that 'deep anxieties about ageing' in society have helped to 'marginalise and demean' older people pray that we in the church will make all ages feel appreciated no matter how young or old they may be.
Wednesday 16th May
For Sally (not of this parish) who has had an operation due to cancer, Pam at home but still poorly, Pete home but still poorly with a very bad cough, David Broome who is very poorly and on a drip at the moment, Ali who has renal cancer with secondaries in his lymph nodes and other places, and for his partner Karen and for all those we pray for on a regular basis. For all who suffer for their faith especially those who are prepared to die for their faith.
Thursday 17th May
For all those who do not have anywhere to live and for organisations such as Shelter, the Salvation Army and hostels around Norwich who care for these people and give them a bed for the night. For all those who give up their time to help in such institutions and with soup kitchens. For the Street Partnership pastors and prayer pastors who will be working to bring God’s peace to the streets of some of our major towns and Norwich city.
Friday 18th May
For all the young people who are taking exams at the moment whether they are AS, A2, GCSE or SAT tests may they be at peace as they take the exams. For those for whom the results of these exams determines what they will do in their lives. For all who are unemployed at this moment may they find work especially young people who have never known what it is to be employed may they be offered one of the many government opportunities to train and may this help them gain employment.
Saturday 19th May
For all those who are living in war torn countries. For our armed forces personnel who are serving as peace keepers in several countries to be kept safe and know the love of God surrounding them at each moment. For the family and friends of those who have lost loved ones in such areas.
Sunday 20th May
For the CPA day of prayer which culminates in service at Norwich Central Baptist church. Pray for our police, for safety and protection and for many of them to be brought to the Lord through the new bibles that are being introduced into many stations. For all those who work in the emergency services; those in the fire service, health service and for those who work in the RNLI and as coastguards especially during the summer season when we have so many visitors come to our beaches.
