Dear Friends
It does not seem possible that three years have passed since I began training to become an Ordained Local Minister. But three years have passed and on the 2ndof October this year at 11 o’clock in Norwich Cathedral I will be ordained a Deacon in the Church of England. It never ceases to amaze me that God can take such an unlikely candidate and use her! However, if we believe that God can do anything then this should not be any surprise to us.
This is not the only promise that the Bible gives us that has come into fruition during this time. Many times I have prayed for help in one way or another and God has always graciously answered that prayer. This does not mean that He will give anyone anything that they want He is far wiser than that. We are promised in the Bible that like a good father He will only give us things that are good for us.
In addition to this, during my training I have been so fortunate in receiving so much support from the people around me. So much of this love has come from those in the church. This is a reflection of the pure love of God. We are reminded that God sent his Son to die on the cross for us so that we may be forgiven and may enter heaven and enjoy eternal life. The new commandment that Jesus gave us was to love one another as he has loved us. This love is central to the message of the Bible.
So, all that remains is to thank all of you who have prayed for me or supported me during the last three years. Also, to invite you to join me in Norwich Cathedral on October the 2nd to witness the ordination.
May God bless you all
Debbie
